Tour of the Ribes Valley – Route 16

Very varied route, which can be started and left in different places. It is a very complete route that allows to surround almost the totality of the Valley of Ribes, happening through the towns and nuclei of Ribes de Freser, Bruguera, Pardines, Ribesaltes, Fustanyà, Serrat, Rialb and Batet, with much diversity in the sections, as much by which relates to the state of the roads and tracks as to the degree of difficulty. Apart from the magnificent views that can be enjoyed during the tour, we find the churches of Santa Magdalena de Puigsac, Pardines, Fustanyà and Serrat, and Batet.

The starting point is in front of the Ribes de Freser sports pavilion, from where we take the road to Bruguera.

Shortly before reaching Bruguera, we leave the paved road and take a forest track on the left and go up until we reach the TV repeater. We follow the track and path to the Plans de la Massana from where we descend to Can Barratort.

We will continue, going up, to Vilaró and Santa Magdalena de Puigsac and we will continue until we reach the village of Pardines, until we reach the square where there is a fountain. We will take a stretch of road (direction Ribes de Freser) and turn right from where we will start the descent to Ribes Altes. We will follow the route to Serrat, a steep section and from there we will go to Fustanyà. We will go down to the paved road from Ribes to Queralbs and after Rialb we will take a path on the right that goes up to Batet. We will take the paved road and return to the starting point: Ribes de Freser.
