Els Collets

From Serrat we ascend to one of the best viewpoints in the town.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

This itinerary begins in Serrat, a bucolic village added to Queralbs which is located 5 kilometers away and retains all the charm of a high mountain village, where you can still see many ovens attached to the houses where bread was made there.

We start from the square at the entrance to the village and head towards Carrer de Sant Isidre until we find an indicator of the route. This leads us to the left along a very steep street, Calvary Street.

We come to a fork in the road, we follow the path on the right, which goes uphill, as indicated by the route tracking indicator.

This path, which gradually ascends, soon becomes a cobbled path surrounded by a low dry stone wall. This is an old cattle trail that allows us to enjoy the fantastic views of the surroundings and is marked with yellow markings and we follow much of the route.

As we gain height, this path surrounded by meadows becomes a demanding uphill path that enters a forest that retains a special charm and in which at certain times of the year we can see marmots or chamois.

We continue up the steep path until we cross a forest track. At this point we leave the trail and the yellow markings to continue along the track to the left, as shown by the route sign.

From here, the route becomes a grateful completely flat walk until you reach the Collets viewpoint. Please note that during the winter and spring seasons we can find sections of this track with ice and snow.

At the end of the track we find a small hill that gives us magnificent views of the surroundings of Queralbs and the majestic mountains that surround it.

In this place we can enjoy an incomparable tranquility and silence, while contemplating such emblematic places of Queralbs as the Fontalba pass, the Puigmal, the Torreneules or the Balandrau among many others.

We can also see the town of Queralbs, the town of Vilamanya or different farmhouses that make up the town from a bird’s eye view.

The return is the same way, which allows us to enjoy again the beauty that accompanies this itinerary.
