This stage starts with a gentle slope down to the La Farga industrial building, from where you follow the path along the whirlpools of the Freser to the river’s confluence with the Núria and then cross the beautiful Salt del Grill waterfall before arriving at the Coma de Vaca refuge hut in the shelter of the Torreneules and Balandrau mountains. At this point you start to head into high-mountain country. Alpine meadows and rocky outcrops form the splendid Coma de Freser cirque, up which you will climb to a height of more than 2,500 m to the Coll de la Marrana pass. From the pass, which is located between the Bastiments and Gra de Fajol mountains and acts as the gateway to the Camprodon Valley, you will descend to the Ulldeter refuge hut, passing the source of the River Ter along the way.
