“An authentic workshop of a transformed bloomery of Aram that closed its doors for good in 1978. The visit allows you to see two straps, the tubes (which characterise the Catalan bloomery), the hydraulic wheel… and to learn the process whereby the type is converted into iron suitable to be worked later.
In 1997, the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (MNACTEC) acquired the lower floor occupied by the bloomery, which was integrated into the Territorial System of MNACTEC.
It is the only complete bloomery that is preserved in Catalonia and has been recognised as a Historical Landmark by the American Society for Metals.”
