Church of Santa Magdalena de Puigsac

Built in the 12th century, it is located in the Puigsac neighbourhood. It has a single nave with a slightly pointed tunnel vault. The semi-circular apse has a window framed by a frieze. The entrance has a double archivolt, flanked by a window at each band. The west facade, an oculus and a door were added in the 18th century. The belfry also dates from later on. The good layout of the ashlars has enabled the building to be well preserved. The porch was added in the 20th century, imitating Romanesque era porches. A little history: Santa Magdalena de Puigsac is a well-kept Romanesque chapel on the edge of the Camprodon Valley royal way and attests to the importance of the town where this chapel was built in 1170. The forced walling of the main town, Pardines, did not allow the consolidation of an environment that had been established and that would have become a new town.

Church established at the request of the inhabitants of this town to facilitate worship in the houses furthest away from the town.
