The building is constructed with a single rectangular nave and a single apse. It is dedicated to the martyr Santa Llúcia, protector of sight, and has some treasures in her honor. The first reference dates from the year 913.
This hermitage has belonged to the Monastery of Sant Joan de les Abadesses since the late 19th century. Previously, the parish had been independent until it came to form part of the Church of Sant Joan de Vallfogona in the 15th century.
