San Gil is a hermitage dedicated to san Gil el Eremita, which is in the Sanctuary of Nuria in Nuria Valley. Tradition has it that it was built in 1615 in the place where the image of the Virgin Mary was found, in memory of san Gil’s stay in Nuria Valley around the year 700. It was redone in 1951 and the last restoration was done in 1999.
