Campelles Castle or Tower

“The remains of Campelles Castle or Tower is a Medieval fortified tower dating from the 11th century.

This castle was built on a hill in the town of Campelles, of which only the vestiges of some walls remain. These walls are made with local stone and bound with limestone mortar. A circular outline of these walls can be seen.

Work is currently being done with an archaeological and documentary project which seeks to find out the entire archaeological structure, in order to understand how it operated over the centuries and to highlight this so that everyone can visit to learn about it.

A Medieval fortress situated on the hill in the town of Campelles, a strategic point of great cultural, historic and landscape interest, from which a 360° view of the Ribes Valley can be enjoyed.”
