On 24th August 1529, festivity of Sant Bartomeu, the men of Baell achieved liberation from the harsh feudal dependence of the monk of Ripoll, becoming an independent parish with a church measuring 40 square metres, built in 1772, and a cemetery that has been in service since 1909.
