The Capçaleres del Ter i del Freser Natural Park extends to the most Pyrenean part of the two rivers in a privileged area. Located around the enclaves of Núria and Ulldeter, surrounded by mountains of almost 3,000 meters such as Bastiments, Puigmal, Costabona and Balandrau, it covers almost 15,000 hectares of very varied and rich samples of ecosystems, habitats, plant communities and species characteristic to the high- mountain landscapes of the Pyrenees, with a wide range of possibilities to enjoy.

The great jewel of the park is the natural and scenic heritage that will allow you to discover the spectacular high mountain fauna and a great floristic diversity. Walking through the interpretive itineraries of the Natural Park to visit mountain villages, you will delve into the life of the shepherds and the identity of our territory, and you will discover high mountain archaeology, mining and hydroelectric plants.

The park’s natural heritage and landscape allow you to encounter a wide variety of flora and spectacular high-mountain fauna. On its interpretive routes you can visit mountain villages, immerse yourself in the pastoral life and identity of our area and discover high-mountain archaeology, the area’s mining industry and its hydroelectric power plants.

For more information, the Capçaleres del Ter i del Freser Natural Park has two information centres at the main entrances, one in the heart of the town of Queralbs and the other in Setcases.

Since 2016, the Capçaleres del Ter i el Freser Natural Park has been committed to the development of sustainable tourism throughout the territory through its accreditation in 2019. It has a sustainable tourism strategy developed and agreed with the agents involved of the area to continually improve in the development of tourist activity taking into account the needs of the environment, the local population and the tourist companies of the territory.
